PRIMARY CURRICULUM
Kindergarten to Year 6
Reddam’s academic curriculum is developed within the guidelines of the NSW Board of Studies. It is designed to offer an exposure to a wide range of subjects, developing the full variety of vital skills and incorporating our innovative methods and extra activities, which make for a holistic approach to education.

The students from Kindergarten to Year 3 each have a dynamic class teacher who provides a powerful foundation in English, Mathematics, Science and Human Society and its Environment. They are supported by handpicked specialist teachers to extend and enrich the children in Music, Drama, PDHPE, Computer Studies, Sport, Visual Arts, Second Languages, and Biblical, Moral or Jewish Studies.
Uniquely Reddam also offers subject specialists in English, Mathematics, Science, Human Society and its Environment in addition to those listed above.
In these years the students have tutor teachers who provide pastoral care and support.
The programmes offered are differentiated and student centred in order to offer students the best possible learning environment and designed for maximum stimulation and extension way beyond the BOS expectations.
Parents and caregivers are kept up-to-date with the students’ progress on an on-going basis through formal and informal means (phone calls, emails and the School intranet for parents).
Formal reports are issued four times a year at the end of each term.
Students are involved and highly successful in a wide range of competitions from Future Problem Solving where Reddam has been the Australian champion for the past 3 years, Australian Literature Board and OZ Kids in print with a Reddam student selected as Australian Writer of the year 2007 for Primary, Book Week writing, Lionel Bowen writing, Art competitions and mathematics competitions.
The mini academy program is offered to enable students to further develop their skills in Dance, Yoga, Gymnastics, Public Speaking, Chess, Martial Arts, Cartooning, film making, Table Tennis, Mastersingers , Gardening, Puzzles and Games.
Mini academy activities change each semester to provide variety for students.
Enrichment activities are designed for academic enrichment in an area of choice for each student covering History, Geography, Writing, Drama, Literature Study, Thinking Skills, Science, English, Tournament of the Minds, Murder Under the Microscope and research projects. The range offered is wide and varied with a different selection each term.
A range of sport is offered depending on the season with a regular sport session for all students. Students actively participate in a range of competitive team sports depending on the season.
